A latent restoring force approach to nonlinear system identification

چکیده

Identification of nonlinear dynamic systems remains a significant challenge across engineering. This work suggests an approach based on Bayesian filtering to extract and identify the contribution unknown term in system which can be seen as alternative viewpoint restoring force surface type approaches. To achieve this identification, is modelled, initially, Gaussian process time. That converted into state-space model combined with linear component system. Then, by inference smoothing distributions, internal states extracted. In possession these constructed. The demonstrated effective both simulated case study experimental benchmark dataset.

Restoring the Qanats as a Traditional Water Transfer System: A Sustainable Approach

In a wide range of the central boundaries of the Iranian plateau, encompassing an important part of the arid areas in Asia, the phenomenon of desertification is a long his tory. In this arid and waterless expanse, living conditions are fully dependent on access to water due to the supremacy of the Kavirs and deserts. The most important and oldest ways of obtaining water have been Qanat or Kariz...

Piecewise-linear Restoring Force Surfaces for Semi- Nonparametric Identification of Nonlinear Systems

A method for identifying a piecewise-linear approximation to the nonlinear forces acting on a system is presented and demonstrated using response data from a micro cantilever beam. It is based on the Restoring Force Surface (RFS) method by Masri and Caughey, which is very attractive when initially testing a nonlinear system because it does not require the user to postulate a form for the nonlin...

A Semiparametric Approach to Modeling Nonlinear Relations Among Latent Variables

To date, finite mixtures of structural equation models (SEMMs) have been developed and applied almost exclusively for the purpose of providing model-based cluster analyses. This type of analysis constitutes a direct application of the model wherein the estimated component distributions of the latent classes are thought to represent the characteristics of distinct unobserved subgroups of the pop...

A Modified Energy Balance Method to Obtain Higher-order Approximations to the Oscillators with Cubic and Harmonic Restoring Force

This article analyzes a strongly nonlinear oscillator with cubic and harmonic restoring force and proposes an efficient analytical technique based on the modified energy balance method (MEBM). The proposed method incorporates higher-order approximations. After applying the proposed MEBM, a set of complicated higher-order nonlinear algebraic equations are obtained. Higher-order nonlinear algebra...

Constraint and Restoring Force

Long-lived sensor network applications must be able to self-repair and adapt to changing demands. We introduce a new approach for doing so: Constraint and Restoring Force. CRF is a physics-inspired framework for computing scalar fields across a sensor network with occasional changes. We illustrate CRF’s usefulness by applying it to gradients, a common building block for sensor network systems. ...
